The demolition of a former sports and social club has been approved ahead of housebuilding.
Plans to knock down the vacant Swillet Sports and Social Club building in Stag Lane, Chorleywood, were submitted in October last year and also included building a two-storey house on the site.
Documents attached to the proposal described the building, most recently used as a breakfast, afterschool, and holiday club, as “deteriorating” and in “a state of disrepair”.

The applicant added that the look of the proposed three-bedroom home, designed for five people, is based off of existing houses in the area meaning it would fit in with its surroundings.
Drawings show a living room, kitchen/dining room, utility room, bathroom, and hall on the ground floor with another bathroom and three bedrooms upstairs. One upstairs bedroom includes an ensuite.
Two off-street parking spaces are provided at the front.
Three Rivers District Council issued a decision notice signing off on the development on Monday (July 15).
