Herts Police initially confirmed that a female motorcyclist has been injured and was being assessed.
Update: It has now been confirmed that the motorcyclist was taken to hospital.
Both vehicles remained at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Google Maps is displaying heavy congestion through Rickmansworth Road with delays of around 15 minutes for journeys between Rickmansworth Road and Chorleywood (as of 9.50am).
According to traffic website One Network, a stretch of Berry Lane is closed between Valley Road and Highfield Way due to gas main renewal work, meaning a diversion sends vehicles down the A412 and A404 - through the heaviest congestion.
Updates to follow.
