A woman has been taken to hospital after two crashes caused delays on a road near Watford this morning.

There is still heavy congestion on the M25 and the southbound A41 following a crash at the interchange between the two, near Watford and Hemel Hempstead.

Hertfordshire County Council warned motorists to avoid “long delays” in the area due to a crash on the roundabout at midday.

Herts Police have confirmed their officers were called to the scene. A red Honda Jazz and a DAF truck were involved and the woman who had been driving the Honda was taken to Watford General Hospital for checks.

It follows a separate three-car smash in the A41 southbound, between Hemel Hempstead and Watford, at around 6.47am.

A black BMW 3 series, black Toyota Yaris, and silver Honda Civic were involved in a damage-only crash, with no injuries reported. All vehicles remained at the scene.

Delays lasted until around 9am.
