Motorists are facing disruption to their journeys after the green light was given to the temporary closure of several roads near Watford for roadworks to take place.

Herts County Council has confirmed that orders have been made to close roads in Carpenders Park, Sarratt and Bushey in the Public Notice Portal, which is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are three notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents using the roads in the Watford area:

Compton Place, Carpenders Park – temporary closure

Herts County Council has made an order to prohibit traffic from using Compton Place, Carpenders Park, to enable utility service works to be carried out.

The road will be shut from from a point in line with the western boundary of No.9 Compton Place north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m, except for access.

The order will come into force on July 25 and be valid up for to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.

Various Sarratt roads – temporary closures

An order has been made to prevent motorists from using the following sections of roads while works are carried out:

- Plough Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Red Lion Lane north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Dunny Lane, a distance of approximately 1545m.

- Commonwood, Sarratt from its junction with Plough Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 96m.

- Poles Hill, Sarratt from its junction with Dunny Lane south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Bragmans Lane, a distance of approximately 240m.

- Bottom Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Red Lion Lane south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Commonwood, a distance of approximately 205m.

- Red Lion Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Plough Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 308m.

The order will take effect from July 22 and be valid up for to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times indicated on signs at or near the road.

Little Bushey Lane, Bushey – temporary closure

The county council has made an order to prohibit vehicles from using part of Little Bushey Lane, Bushey, to allow utility service works to be carried out.

The road will be shut from its junction with Cotswold Avenue south eastwards to its junction with Mendip Road, a distance of approximately 145m, except for access.

The order will come into force on July 26 and be valid up for to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.
