The rector of Bushey said the triple murder has left residents with a “profound sense of shock” as he welcomed them into his churches.
Father David Stevenson has invited residents to light a candle at St James and St Paul's churches in memory of Carol, Hannah and Louise Hunt, who were killed at home in Ashlyn Close on Tuesday evening.
Father David said: “There is a profound sense of shock that something like this would happen in this community.
“Our churches are open for people to light candles. Members of my congregations are devastated and there are a lot of people having some quiet and peace to say their prayers.
“The church is here to support everybody irrespective of their faith.”
The murders saw a police manhunt across Hertfordshire and north London for the main suspect, Kyle Clifford, a 26-year-old who was caught yesterday afternoon in Enfield.
“The wonderful thing is that this man has been caught and we will need to think about what happened and how it came to this,” the rector added. “But at the moment the main focus is to support the family and get the community to heal.”
