Part of Watford town centre has been shut off by police following reports that someone was in possession of a gun.
Armed Herts Police officers were called just before 4pm today (July 10) to reports of an "altercation" outside atria Watford before the stretch near Watford High Street Station was blocked off.
They scoured the area and found a man with a minor head injury, Herts Police said, before he was treated by medics and taken to hospital.
As of 6pm, it is understood the situation is still ongoing and currently no one has been arrested.
A spokesperson for the force said they were not in a position to disclose what the "altercation" reportedly involved.
Regarding suspect descriptions, they said: "It was reported that two males were dressed in black riding black pedal cycles, one male was wearing blue pants and a gold chain."
Officers are still establishing the facts and it is unknown whether the victim and suspects knew each other.
"We would like to reassure the community that this incident is not linked to the murder investigation in Bushey," the spokesperson added.
The force urged anyone with information to report it to them via their website or non-emergency number 101, quoting reference ISR 547 of 10 July.
