Hello, my name’s Hunter and I’m a two-year-old lurcher looking for my forever home. I came into the National Animal Welfare Trust three weeks ago as a stray. The team don’t know anything about my past but it didn’t take them long to fall in love with me and I’m sure you will too!
I’m a happy, excitable boy who loves to play with my toys and spend time with my favourite people. I get very excited when I see people I love and have been told I need to learn some manners so I greet people calmly.
I can walk nicely when I am out but get easily distracted and overexcited, so I also need to improve my loose-lead walking. My carers have started some basic positive reinforcement training with me and I look forward to continuing this with my new family. The good news is I love food and I’m very clever, so I’ve been learning very quickly.
I’ve made friends with some of the other lurchers at the NAWT and I might like to live with another dog – we’d need to meet at the rescue centre a few times to make sure we can be friends. I could potentially live with a very calm, dog-savvy cat too.
I need my new home to be with adults and teenagers only and because I really enjoy playing and chasing my toys, will need a large, secure garden to run around in. I’d also like it if someone in the family was home most the time to keep me company and stop me getting up to mischief!
If you’re looking for a fun-loving boy like me, apply for me today! Email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0711 (option 2) to meet me.
