The organisers of two events in Watford have applied for licenses to play music and sell alcohol.

Details of the applications by Barbican Events and Mojo Fusion in respect of a beer festival in Cassiobury Park and a carnival in Radlett Road playing fields can be seen on the Public Notice Portal, which is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are three notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford and the surrounding areas.

Cassiobury Park – alcohol and music licence

The organisers of a Bavarian beer festival due to be staged in October have applied for an alcohol and music licence.

Oktoberfest is set to take place on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 in Cassiobury Park and organisers Barbican Events Ltd have applied to Watford Borough Council for a premises licence.

If the application gets the green light, it will allow live and recorded music to be played indoors from 4pm to 10.30pm on the Friday and from  11am to 10.30pm the following day, and the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises at the same times.

The application states the opening hours of the event will be 4pm to 11pm on Friday and 11am to 11pm on Saturday.

Radlett Road playing fields – alcohol and music licence

The organisers of the Watford Cultural Carnival have applied for an alcohol and music licence for this year’s event.

Mojo Fusion Ltd Community Interest Company are seeking the granting of a premises licence at Radlett Road playing fields.

If approved, it would permit the sale of alcohol on and off premises, recorded music, performance of dance and opening hours of 10am to 8pm on Saturday, August 3 and on the first Saturday of August for each year afterwards.

Any representations should be made in writing to the Watford Licensing Authority.

Various Watford roads – temporary closures

Herts County Council has made an order to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of roads, except for access, to allow works to take place:

- Heather Lane, Watford from its junction with Leggatts Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 13m.

- Marlborough Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Exchange Road south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with A4178 Cassio Road, a distance of approximately 208m.

- Lea Road, Watford from its junction with Maude Crescent north eastwards to its junction with A412 St Albans Road, a distance of approximately 45m.

- Maude Crescent, Watford from its junction with St Georges Road south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

- St Georges Road, Watford from its junction with The Harebreaks north eastwards to its junction with Maude Crescent, a distance of approximately 103m.

- Terrace Gardens, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road north westwards for its entire length.

The order came into force on July 1 and will be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times specified at or near the roads.
