Thrive Homes has appointed an "industry veteran" as its new chair who says she is "relishing the challenge" ahead.
Kate Still from Hemel Hempstead has taken the reins at the housing association, which operates in Watford and nearby areas, after working within the sector for 15 years.
She has also worked within the private sector and government.
Ms Still said: "I am thrilled to become chair of Thrive Homes and relish the challenge of helping the organisation to drive forward its mission of improving access to affordable housing in some of the least affordable parts of the UK."
As a former board advisor to the Homes and Communities Agency, Ms Still focused her attention on the intersectional economic inequality in housing policy.
Alongside this, the association's new chair has insight into social housing, having grown up on Highfield Estate in Hemel Hempstead.
Thrive's chief executive Elspeth Mackenzie added: "We are delighted to welcome Kate as our new chair.
"Her blend of professional expertise and lived experience means that she is a great addition to Thrive’s board."
Thrive Homes has more than 5,500 properties across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire.
