Hertfordshire Police have made an arrest after a man was reportedly hit on the head with a metal pole in Garston.
Officers were called at around 8.52pm yesterday (July 1) to reports that a man and woman in their 40s were assaulted in Coates Dell while walking their dog.
They were approached by a man who allegedly shouted at them before returning with metal poles and pushing the male victim.
Another man in his 20s was also struck on the head with a metal pole, according to police. His actual bodily harm-level injuries are still being assessed.
Police arrested a 36-year-old man from Watford on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm, common assault, possession of an offensive weapon, and making threats to kill.

He is not believed to be known to the victims and has now been released on bail while the investigation continues.
Garston residents reported seeing “a lot of activity” in Coates Dell yesterday evening and speculated there had been a stabbing, although police confirmed no knife was found.
