A popular village music festival wants more people to be able to attend while a number of roads in Watford are set to be shut for roadworks.
The organisers of Croxfest's application to increase the attendance at the free event in September can be seen in the Public Notice Portal, which is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.
The portal also carries details of the orders made by Herts County Close to prohibit drivers from using several roads across Watford while works are carried out.
Here are five notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford, Croxley Green and Northwood.
Croxley Green – premises licence
A popular free community music festival wants to be able to let more people attend.
The organisers of Croxfest, which is due to be held on Saturday, September 7 on The Green, Croxley Green, is seeking permission to vary its premises licence to increase the attendance from 5,000 people to 6,000.
Anyone wishing to make representations should do so in writing to The Licensing Authority, Three Rivers District Council, Three Rivers House, Northway, Rickmansworth, WD3 1RL or by email to licensing.team@threerivers.gov.uk.
St Georges Road – temporary closure
An order has been made to prohibit vehicles from using St Georges Road, Watford from its junction with Gammons Lane north eastwards to its junction with The Harebreaks, a distance of approximately 166m, to allow replacement gas mains work to take place.
The order will come into force on July 1 and be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.
Mildred Avenue – temporary closure
Herts County Council has made an order to prevent motorists from using Mildred Avenue, Watford from its junction with Harwoods Road south westwards to its junction with Queens Avenue, a distance of approximately 50m, to allow a gas main to be replaced.
The order comes into effect on July 1 and will be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times indicated by signs at or near the road.
Various Watford roads – temporary closures
An order has been made to close the following lengths of roads to allow works to be carried out:
- Heather Lane, Watford from its junction with Leggatts Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 13m.
- Marlborough Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Exchange Road south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with A4178 Cassio Road, a distance of approximately 208m.
- Lea Road, Watford from its junction with Maude Crescent north eastwards to its junction with A412 St Albans Road, a distance of approximately 45m.
- Maude Crescent, Watford from its junction with St Georges Road south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.
- St Georges Road, Watford from its junction with The Harebreaks north eastwards to its junction with Maude Crescent, a distance of approximately 103m.
- Terrace Gardens, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road north westwards for its entire length.

Estate of Eleanor Mary Ryan
Any person having a claim against or an interest in the estate of Eleanor Mary Ryan, late of 32 Wolsey Road, Northwood, HA6 2EW, who died on February 3, 2024 should send written particulars to Longmores (Hertford), 24 Castle Street, Hertford SG14 1HP.
This should be done by August 15, 2024 quoting reference: FAG/RYA.13.1.
