In a week of train woes, Watford rail users face another day of disruption.

Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern services between London Euston and Watford Junction may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes for the rest of the day.

A defective track between the stations is forcing trains to run at reduced speed on some lines, National Rail has said.

Avanti West Coast said its tickets are being accepted on CrossCountry services between Manchester Piccadilly and Birmingham New Street in both directions, and on London Northwestern Railway or West Midlands Railway train on any similar route.

Travellers may be eligible for compensation from their train operator if their journey is delayed.

On Monday, Southern and London Overground services were cancelled or forced to terminate early due to a man throwing objects, including a chimney pot, onto a train track in London.

The following day, trains from Euston were also cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes due to a points failure at Bletchley and a separate signalling fault between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central.
