Watford Town Centre is sporting a fresh look with new lamppost banners aiming to add a "splash of colour and vibrancy" to the area.

Introduced by the Watford Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID), the signs have been placed in the heart of the town in roads such as High Street, The Parade and Market Street.

Designed by Watford marketing agency We Are Acuity, they utilise the Watford Town Centre branding and also feature icons representing the area's diverse business sectors.

Every street has a unique design and includes arrows to help visitors navigate the town centre.

Glen Hempenstall, marketing and communications manager for Watford Town Centre BID, said: "We’re fortunate to have visitors to our town for such a variety of reasons, and so we wanted to introduce a set of designs that would showcase just how much Watford Town Centre has to offer.

"Many people come to visit Watford High Street and atria Watford shopping centre for the fantastic brands and independents they possess, but we also want to inspire users to explore the likes of Market Street, Queens Road and Kings Street which are all home to wonderful businesses and hidden gems.

"We hope the wayfinding element will help the flow of footfall around the entirety of Watford town centre, whilst also adding a splash of colour and vibrancy to our dynamic town."

There are a total of 36 banners and they will be on display until March 2026.

The vibrant designs join the BID-funded floral displays, introduced this month, which aim to add further charm to Watford during the summer months.

The banner project is one aspect of the BID’s efforts to enhance the services provided by local authorities.

Supported by more than 400 businesses that make up the Watford Town Centre area, BID supports a variety of projects which boost the town centre's appeal.
