Met Office experts have weighed in on when Watford will see some warmer weather after a wet start to the summer.
Temperatures will rise in the town this week as the mercury will stay above 20C, reaching as high as 23C on Sunday, June 23.
The next few days will be cloudy overall, with some sunny periods on Thursday and returning on Sunday into next week.
A spokesperson for the forecaster said: “There is a warming trend as we go through the coming days and we are likely to reach heat wave threshold temperatures in some places, particularly southern and central England.”

In Hertfordshire and the east of England, maximum daily temperatures must stay above 28C for three separate days to be considered a heatwave, which is not currently forecast for Watford.
Over a longer period, the Met Office predicted that a “drier, warmer, and settled spell” will develop next week until the end of the month.
It added that warmer than average weather is most likely with temperatures continuing to rise, although the forecaster warned there was a “small chance” the forecast could drop back to colder and more unsettled weather.
