Ofsted has praised a hospital nursery despite downgrading its previous ‘outstanding’ rating.
The Busy Bees Day Nursery at Watford General Hospital is now ‘good’ based on its latest report published last week.
It offers a childcare service for the babies and preschool-age children of parents and carers working at the hospital.
The report noted: “Staff create an environment where children feel happy, safe and content. Children are welcomed into the setting by familiar adults.
“They greet them with a smile and find out how their day has been so far.”

- Cancer centre could move to Watford General as site 'not fit for purpose'
Inspectors found staff created different activities to keep the children engaged and used “rich” language to further their development.
The new nursery management had made improvements to the facilities and were highly complimented by parents, who said their children were happy which helped them in their own work life.
But it has been downgraded since its 2018 inspection, as the report recommended the nursery find ways to further challenge children who found activities easy and improve its support for SEND children.
