Drivers are set to experience delays when sections of two major roads in the area are closed for roadworks.
Herts County Council has made orders to prevent vehicles from using parts of the A41 and St Albans Road to allow the works to take place.
These are among the notices published in the Public Notice Portal which is used to access all the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.
Here are five notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford, Rickmansworth and South Oxhey.
Roads in Hunton Bridge and Woodside – temporary closures
Herts County Council has made an order to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of road to allow works to take place.
The order came into effect last Sunday and is valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads.
- The A41 (Hempstead Road/Watford Road), Hunton Bridge from its junction with the A41 North Western Avenue/M25 (junction 19) roundabout north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 250m.
- Old Mill Lane, Hunton Bridge from its junction with A41 Watford Road north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 45m.
- The A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road/High Road roundabout, Woodside from its westernmost junction with A41 North Western Avenue north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 209m.
St Albans Road – temporary closure
A section of St Albans Road, Watford, is set to be temporarily closed to allow the installation of a new utility pole.
Herts County Council has made an order which came into force on Sunday and is valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown by signs at or near the road.
Vehicles will be prevented from using the A412 St Albans Road from its junction with Leavesden Road north eastwards, northwards and north eastwards to its junction with Lowestoft Road, a distance of approximately 183m, except for access.
Fuller Road and Woodside – temporary closures
An order has been made to close the following lengths of road to vehicles for gas main replacement works:
- Fuller Road, Watford from its junction with Chestnut Walk south eastwards to its junction with Middle Way, a distance of approximately 194m.
- Fuller Road, Watford from its junction with Middle Way south eastwards to its junction with Longspring, a distance of approximately 198m.
- Fuller Road, Watford from its junction with Longspring south eastwards to its junction with St Georges Road, a distance of approximately 191m.
- Woodside, Watford from its junction with Chestnut Walk north westwards for a distance of approximately 77m.
The Herts County Council order came into effect on Monday and is valid for up to 18 months, but it will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads.
Estate of Terry Ann Burton
Anyone having a claim against or an interest in the estate of Terry Ann Burton, late of 3A, Bury Lane, Rickmansworth, WD3 1DW, who died on February 21, 2024, should send written details to Archer Rusby Solicitors, 3 Norfolk Court, Norfolk Road, Rickmansworth, WD3 1LA.
This needs to be done by August 8, 2024 quoting reference: SB/RUS/022.0001.
Little Oxhey Lane – temporary closure
Herts County Council has made an order to prevent vehicles from using part of B4542 Little Oxhey Lane, South Oxhey, to allow works to take place.
The road will be closed from its junction with Altham Way north eastwards to its junction with St Georges Drive, a distance of approximately 317m.
The order took effect on Monday and is valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only be enforced at times indicated on signs at or near the roads.
