Green Belt land near Rickmansworth that was previously targeted for housing has been put on the market.
The 1.6-acre plot north of Springwell Lane has gone on sale for £100,000, offering a “captivating blend of grassland and woodland”.
According to offers Barney Estates and Auctioneers, prospective buyers would also get “endless possibilities” for future development or recreational use.
The “enchanting land” is located between the Grand Union Canal and Stocker’s Lake to the north, with a neighbouring glassworks facility to the west.
According to the listing uploaded to Rightmove, the site would also suit commuters due to its proximity to Rickmansworth Station and the M25.
Plans for 122 homes at the site and nearby were rejected in 2015 by Hillingdon Borough Council.
Then-chairman of the Rickmansworth and District Residents' Association, Michael Stimpson, warned it would have put pressure on surrounding roads and schools as developers wanted to build 40 four-bed houses, 18 three-bed houses and 74 flats.
