A final set of works will again close a town centre road from Friday after delays.
The main changes to the Water Lane junction with Watford High Street were completed as expected in April but the installation of anti-skid surfacing was pushed back due to an unexpected vehicle breakdown.
It is now set to be carried out from 10pm Friday until 3am on Saturday, June 15, under a road closure.

Access to buildings on High Street, Smith Street, The Crescent, Granville Road, George Street, Church Street, and New Street will be via Exchange Road and Cambridge Road instead.
Buses that use the junction will use Exchange Road to serve the ring road and skip the town centre stops. Walking access will be maintained.
Watford Borough Council added that the safety surfacing is weather-sensitive, meaning rain could delay it again.
The junction is being reworked to encourage slower vehicle speeds and improve the visibility of people cycling downhill in High Street.
Most drivers turning right into the one-way Lower High Street apparently ignore the stop line and do not look right because they do not realise that, although there are no oncoming cars, they are moving through a cycle lane with bikes coming down the hill towards them.
