A Watford motorist faces a ban and must pay £730 after driving drunk.
Rita Awulira admitted to the offence during an appearance in Barkingside Magistrates’ Court yesterday (June 10).
The 38-year-old was disqualified from driving for 12 months, which can be reduced by three months through completing a course before January 9, and handed a £461 fine.
A £184 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs were also ordered.
Awulira, of Croxley View, had driven a Nissan Qashqai on the A127 near the junction with Ardleigh Green Road in Hornchurch on May 26, 2024, with 42 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. This exceeded the prescribed limit of 35 micrograms.

Also in court:
Lucille Nesbitt-Comaskey was found guilty of driving without due care and attention on the A405 in Watford on December 2, 2022.
The 61-year-old denied the charge on October 5, 2023, but was convicted at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on June 6.
Nesbitt-Comaskey, of Oaks Path in Watford, was ordered to pay a £484 total and her driving record was endorsed with four points.
