Watford businesses have heralded the “great honour” of being shortlisted for county-wide enterprise awards.
Funeral directors M. K. Ginder & Sons was entered for West Herts business of the year, family business of the year and ‘Excellence in Customer Commitment’ at the Inspiring Herts Awards 2024 by the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 1983 by Martyn Ginder, the St Albans Road business is now run by his sons Adam and Daniel and has seven branches around Watford.
Managing director Adam said the shortlisting was a “great honour”, particularly in the family business category.
He added: “The heart of what we do is looking after families and who best to look after a family but another family of course.”

Alison May, Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care's community engagement manager, said staff were “delighted” at being shortlisted for the ‘Community Champion’ award.
She added: “Through our Compassionate Communities programme we are working to make a significant impact in our local communities by tackling loneliness and isolation.”
Smart home appliances firm GeoSmartPro, based in the Croxley Business Park, was also shortlisted for ‘Excellence in Business Diversification’, while car rental service Tusker Direct, based in Hatters Lane, was entered for the ‘Green Award’.
