Motorists are facing disruption when a section of one of Watford’s busiest roundabouts is shut for roadworks.

Herts County Council has made an order to close part of Bushey Arches roundabout to allow the works to take place, while other roads in the town are also set to be shut for more works.

These are among the notices published in the Public Notice Portal which is used to access all the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are four notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford and Bushey.

Bushey Arches roundabout – temporary closure

A section of Bushey Arches roundabout is set to be closed for roadworks.

Herts County Council has made an order to prevent vehicles from using the A4008 roundabout from its junction with A411 Lower High Street clockwise to its junction with A411 Chalk Hill, a distance of approximately 32m.

Additionally, all vehicles will be prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the road while the works are in progress.

The order came into effect on Monday and is valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.

The alternative route during the works will be via A411 (Lower High Street/Dalton Way/Waterfields Way), A4008 Stephenson Way, A41 Otterspool Way, B462 (Hartspring Lane/Aldenham Road) and A411 Chalk Hill.

Watford roads – temporary closures

Three roads in Watford are set to be temporarily closed to allow roadworks to take place.

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of roads.

If the order is granted, it will come into force on June 18 and be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads.

- Maytree Crescent, Watford from its junction with Leggatts Way south westwards, clockwise and north westwards for its entire length.

- North Approach, Watford from a point in line with the north eastern boundary of No.267 North Approach south westwards to its junction with Evans Avenue, a distance of approximately 90m.

- North Approach, Watford from a point in line with the north eastern boundary of No.267 North Approach north eastwards to its junction with Briar Road, a distance of approximately 430m.

- Briar Road, Watford from its junction with North Approach south eastwards to its junction with Meadow Road, a distance of approximately 103m.

St Albans Road – premises licence

An eatery in St Albans Road wants to sell food and non-alcoholic drinks at night.

My 3 Chickens Ltd of 154, St Albans Road, WD24 4FT has applied for the provisional statement of a premises licence.

If successful, the takeaway will be granted a night refreshment licence to sell food and non-alcoholic drinks.
