Commuters face major rail disruption this morning as a person has died after being struck by a train near Watford Junction.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line near Watford Junction railway station at 6.04am today (June 5) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to their death."
Update: The disruption is expected to continue affecting services until 2pm with delays of up to 60 minutes.

All trains were halted in and out of London Euston while emergency services attended the incident, according to National Rail.

Train tickets are being accepted across other services, with full details available on the National Rail website.
London Overground services to Watford Junction are not affected by the emergency incident.
