Watford residents face travel disruption this weekend as a major town centre road is set to close.

Part of Clarendon Road will be shut at the Station Road end from 9am tomorrow, June 1, to 5am on Monday for essential utility roadworks.

Delays are likely and there will be diversions in place along St John’s Road and Woodford Road, according to Hertfordshire County Council.

Arriva has said the 321 bus from Luton to Watford General will not serve Clarendon Road due to the disruption and will be diverted along St Albans Road and Beechen Grove instead.

Other major road closures

The M1 is also set to close in both directions overnight for several days in June for resurfacing and testing works.

Moderate delays of up to 30 minutes are expected as the motorway will shut between junctions five and six from 10pm to 6am on Monday, June 10, to Friday, June 15, with diversions in place along local authority roads.
