Road closures for resurfacing works are among the issues drivers in the Watford area may experience in the next two weeks.

The closures are due to take place in residential roads in Croxley Green and South Oxhey, but Hempstead Road, in Watford, and Rectory Road, in Rickmansworth, are among the major routes where roadworks are ‘likely’ to cause delays.

The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works due to take place across our area in the first two weeks of June:

- Delays are possible in Birchmead, Watford, from Monday to Wednesday when Openreach will be carrying out works. ‘Give and take’ traffic control measures will be in use.

- Works by Openreach are likely to cause delays in Merry Hill Road, Bushey, on June 8 and June 9. The work is due to be taking place between 8am and 1pm each day and two-way traffic lights will be in use.

- Delays are likely in Hempstead Road, Watford, on June 10 when Affinity Water will be carrying out works. Multi-way traffic lights will be in use on the section between the entrance to West Herts College and the junction with Stratford Way.

- Barnhurst Path, South Oxhey, will be closed from 7.30am to 6pm on June 10 and June 11 for resurfacing works. Ashridge Drive will also be shut from the junction of Barnhurst Path to the junction of Prestwick Road to assist with the works.

- A lane will be closed in Rectory Road, Rickmansworth, from June 10 to June 14 for pathway reconstruction works. These will be taking place from Kaida House to No. 11.
