Hertfordshire Police have appealed for witnesses after a three-car crash left one person hospitalised and closed a major road.
A man and woman had to be cut from their vehicles after a red Hyundai Ioniq, white MG SUV and black Mercedes EQC 400 collided on the A41/North Western Avenue at around 12.42pm today (May 30).
Officers are still trying to determine the circumstances and have asked for information or footage that could aid the investigation.
The incident forced police to close the major road, near Costco, in both directions for over an hour and the traffic backlog took until 4.30pm to clear.
The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed that one person was taken to Watford General Hospital for further care. The exact nature of their injuries is unknown but they are not deemed life-threatening or life-changing, police said.

PC Luke Hinchcliffe said: “I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the incident to get in touch with any information. We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have captured dash cam footage.
“No matter how insignificant you think the information is, it could still support our ongoing investigation.
