The incoming leader for a Watford school has said he is "delighted" to be joining the community.
Matthew Morey will take up the post of permanent headteacher at Lanchester Primary School in Hempstead Road from September 1 this year.
The role will be Mr Morey’s first headship, but he can draw upon lots of experience teaching in the area.

After graduating he volunteered as a youth football coach in Watford, which kicked off his career working with children.
He started teaching in Croxley Green and Berkhamsted as a Year 6 specialist and humanities lead in 2007, before moving to Bushey to become an assistant head in 2014.
In 2018 he began work as a deputy headteacher at Little Chalfont Primary School before completing the NPQH in preparation for his first headship last summer.
Mr Morey said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new headteacher at Lanchester Primary School and I am very much looking forward to getting to know the community.
“I believe children thrive when they have access to powerful learning experiences built from excellent teaching and engaging tasks, enriched with opportunities for responsibility and leadership.”
Karen Armstrong and Rupinder Bansil will remain as the executive headteachers throughout the summer term, working closely with the incoming headteacher from now until the end of the academic year to ensure a smooth transition.
