Open grassland in Watford could see 65 new affordable homes built on it after 162 were already completed on the same estate.
The borough council has announced plans to sell the public space along Croxley View to Watford Community Housing (WCH) as part of a four-stage development.
Homes would be integrated into the new landscape, while existing trees would be retained where possible and extended, according to a public notice released on May 16.
The plan would also include spaced-out car parking, along with an upgraded cycle path and footpath.

Phase two of the project, a joint venture between the borough council and WCH, was completed in 2022 and aims to build around 500 local homes over six years.
The second stage provided 86 properties on a £16 million budget. Sixty-three were for private sale, 15 for shared ownership and eight for affordable rent, on top of the previous 76 homes in phase one.
