The cost of parking a car in Bushey and Radlett will increase from next month while the business set to take over the premises of a popular former fish and chip shop in Watford has applied for an alcohol licence.

Hertsmere Borough Council has published details of the rise in on-street pay and display parking and residents’ parking permits in the Public Notice Portal, which is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

The portal also carried details of the application for the alcohol licence at the former Ebb Tide fish and chip shop in Market Street, although the application states it is in Market Place.

Here are three notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford, Bushey and Radlett.

Bushey and Radlett – pay and display parking charges

The cost of on-street pay and display parking charges in Bushey and Radlett is set to increase from next month.

Hertsmere Borough Council has given notice that the charges will increase from June 3 in the following locations:

- Bushey: High Street (one-hour parking bays): There will continue to be no charge for the first 30 minutes but it will rise from £1 to £1.10 for one hour.

- Bushey: Greatham Road (two-hour parking bays): No charge for the first 30 minutes; increase from £1 to £1.10 for one hour; increase from £2 to £2.20 for one to two hours.

- Bushey Heath: High Road, High Road Service Road, Elstree Road (one hour parking bays): No charge for the first 30 minutes; increase from £1 to £1.10 for one hour.

- There will continue to be no charge for using the 20-minute bays in Bushey Hall Road; the 30-minute bays in Rudolph Road, Falconer Road and Aldenham Road; the one-hour bays in Elstree Road.

- Radlett: Aldenham Avenue, Newberries Parade, Station Road, Watling Street (two hour parking bays): No charge for the first 30 minutes; £1 to £1.10 for one hour; £2 to £2.20 for one to two hours.

Bushey and Radlett – permit parking

The annual cost of a permit for residents to park a car in Bushey and Radlett is set to increase next month.

Hertsmere Borough Council has given notice that from Monday, June 3 it will be increasing the charge of parking permits in the zones in both towns by the following amounts:

First permit: cost increasing from £30 to £35; second permit: from £60 to £70; third permit: from £120 to £160; fourth permit: from £160 to £200.

Market Street (Place) – alcohol licence

A business set to take over the premises occupied by a popular former fish and chip shop has applied for an alcohol licence.

Ludmila Ribeiro has applied for a new premises licence for Taberna.Pt at 97 Market Place, Watford WD18 0PT.

If granted, alcohol will be able to be sold – on and off licence – from 10am to 11.30pm, Sunday to Thursday, and from 10am to midnight on Friday and Saturday; and late night refreshment – on and off licence – from 11pm to 11.30pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 11pm to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
