There is heavy traffic by a roundabout as three-way temporary lights were put in place to repair a “hazardous lid” in the road.
Motorists have been warned to expect delays if travelling near where Watford Road and The Green meet Scots Hill, between Rickmansworth and Croxley Green.
Affinity Water has installed multi-way temporary traffic signals which are listed as being in place from 12.55pm today (May 7) for essential maintenance.

In a post to X, Hertfordshire County Council's highways team said: “Affinity Water have signals on A412 Scots Hill Junction A412 Watford Road, Croxley Green 7th – 9th May due to a hazardous lid in the carriageway, please expect delays.”
The 'hazardous lid' refers to a fire hydrant cover "that needs attention".
Motorists who have reported getting stuck in “totally gridlocked” traffic are warning others to avoid the roundabout if possible.
It is just by the entrance to Rickmansworth School, in Scots Hill, and residents have therefore shared their hopes that the issue can be fixed ahead of the school rush.
