Two people caught speeding along the M1 and M25 have been slapped with fines.
Aruna Samani, of Fearnley Street in Watford, was clocked zooming along the M1 in a Mercedes between junctions 7 and 6, near Redbourn, at 101mph.
It happened on May 5 last year, following which he was sentenced at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (April 30).
The 58-year-old was fined £180, ordered to pay a £72 victim services’ surcharge and £90 court costs. He was also disqualified from driving and holding a licence for 94 days.

In a separate incident, 34-year-old Christopher Hill was caught going 91mph in a BMW on the M25 anticlockwise between South Mimms and London Colney (junctions 23-22).
The Briar Road resident also appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday over the incident last June. He was fined £307, must pay a £123 surcharge, £90 costs, and got four points on his licence.
The pair join at least nine drivers from Watford who were taken to court for speeding this year – with several also caught going around 100mph.
