A pre-school where children are “deeply engaged” has received a glowing Ofsted report.
St Joseph’s Pre-School has been rated ‘good’ in all areas as the results of its latest inspection were published yesterday (April 22).
Visiting the site in Oxhey Drive, South Oxhey, on March 13, the inspector found that children were excited to arrive and stayed engaged through the day.

“Children develop close bonds with one another and are observed supporting their friends in tasks,” the report added.
“For example, children help each other put on coats and gloves before going outside. Children form equally close relationships with the nurturing staff.”
However, Ofsted thought that more could be done to enhance children’s understanding of appropriate behaviour, and more robust methods of coaching and mentoring staff could be established.
Safeguarding arrangements were found to be effective and parents apparently have strong relationships with staff.
They spoke highly of St Joseph's to the inspector and particularly commented on the “high-quality communication” they get from the pre-school.
St Joseph’s has 35 children aged two to four on its roll. It was established in 1990 and was rated 'good' at its previous inspection in April 2018.
