I have made it a personal mission to ensure I am accessible as Watford’s MP, so I am out and about all year round including hosting public surgeries. My main focus has been delivering for Watford and I am pleased to say I have been successful in delivering on my pledges, so here’s a quick recap…
I have secured the full funding for the state of the art new Watford General Hospital.
I helped secure the new Police Station on the high street with the Police and Crime Commissioner.
I secured over £5 million pounds to tackle rough sleeping supporting local organisations to help the most vulnerable.
My goal of training a thousand people in mental health first aid awareness has been achieved thanks to support from Camelot and Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce.
I put politics aside and helped secure £16 million pounds from the Levelling Up Fund with the council to transform the Colosseum and enable the Town Hall to support small businesses.
My Tips Bill will help more than two million hospitality workers keep their tips.
I have also been standing up for hard working people and commuters by opposing ULEZ and by trying to change the law to ensure bus users are involved in bus timetable changes.
There is so much more from securing Zach’s Law to securing funding for local community organisations to completing over 25,000 cases for local residents. Don’t forget you can follow my work for Watford by signing up to my newsletter and following my social media. Visit deanrussell.co.uk to let me know your priorities.
