Three youths have been sentenced over affray and grievous bodily harm in Watford that left a man with a broken hip.
The teenagers from Watford, Croxley Green, Bushey, and north London appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ on March 27 over an incident in High Street on July 10, 2022.
One 16-year-old from Bushey who pleaded guilty to causing GBH and affray was referred to the youth offender panel for two 12-month periods concurrently.
He previously admitted pushing a trolley into the victim, a man in his 50s, causing him to fall and suffer a hip fracture.
He paid £250 in compensation and no victim surcharge or court costs due to lack of means.
Another Watford teenager, 16, who admitted one count of affray, was handed a four-month curfew with an electronic tag as part of a youth rehabilitation requirement.

He must complete 45 hours of a reparation activity over 15 days and paid £85 in prosecution costs and a £26 victim surcharge.
A 15-year-old from Croxley Green, who also admitted affray, was referred to the youth offender panel for eight months. He also had to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £26 victim surcharge.
The youngest defendant, a 14-year-old from north London, will be sentenced on April 17.
