A man was found lying injured in the road with a black eye and cut hand following a suspected crash near Watford.
Police are now appealing for witnesses following the discovery of a man lying in Langleybury Lane, near Hunton Bridge, on March 10 at 4.35am.
The man in his 40s claimed he had been involved in a road collision in Sarratt and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A police spokesman said he did not see which car hit him and black BMW stopped at the scene after seeing the man in the road.

Three Rivers Detective Constable Vanessa Gottmann said: “Our enquiries are continuing as we work to establish the full circumstances, and I am urging anyone with information to please come forward.
“Were you in the area at the time and saw what happened, or have any further information to help our investigation? Additionally, if you have a dash cam fitted, please check it, as you may have captured some crucial information.”
