Teen cousins Holly Mitchell and Frankie Honour collected more than 200 Easter eggs for West Herts Hospital Charity.
The girls from Kings Langley, aged 15 and 16, had contacted retailers earlier this year to secure the donations.
Their efforts swelled the charity's total Easter donations to more than 1,000 from supporters such as Anytime Fitness, Dacorum Motorcycle Riders Group and others, which will be appreciated by patients over the Easter weekend.
Inspired by their success, the young benefactors are brainstorming ways to support the hospitals' charity this coming Christmas.
Holly said: “Last year I donated selection boxes for children staying at Watford General over Christmas and wanted to do something to bring a smile to children staying in hospital this Easter. Seeing the response from our community is brilliant. A small act of kindness can make a big difference!"
Alison Rosen, CEO at West Herts Hospitals Charity, said: "Holly and Frankie's initiative to make a difference for young patients who find themselves in hospital is inspiring.
"We are also immensely grateful for the support of our local businesses and supporters who have been so kind and generous, a special shout out to all the customers who donated an Easter Egg to Anytime Fitness for patients at West Herts Hospitals."
