Roadworks under temporary lights at a major junction have been causing delays “in all directions”.
Openreach is carrying out utility repair or maintenance works in Oxhey Lane, at the junction with Little Oxhey Lane.
With multi-way signals in operation, Hertfordshire Highways has been warning motorists of the delays, which have continued for hours this morning.

In a post to X, it said: “Oxhey Lane: Delays in all directions at Little Oxhey Lane due to planned works with temp traffic lights in use.
“Avoid the queue.”

Work began after 9.30am yesterday (March 20) and is set to continue until the end of Sunday, according to One Network.
From Monday (March 25) until March 28, the road is set to be fully closed overnight at the same stretch. Motorists will not be able to use it between 8pm and 6am each night while Hertfordshire County Council carries out roadworks.
