Land currently used as another home's back garden could be the site for a new two-storey two-bedroom house.
A proposal added to the Watford Borough Council planning portal this week seeks to “utilise the unusually large rear garden plot” in Bucks Avenue, Watford, “to provide new family housing”.
The site is made up of the access to a garage and general garden space in a residential area, but if the plan is approved another family could be moved into the plot, which is on a slope.

The house is proposed as an “upside down” design meaning the bedrooms and bathroom would be on the ground floor, with access to a small patio at the back, while a remaining area of garden would be accessed via a bridge from a first floor - which would contain kitchen and living areas.
There is no parking on-site proposed as it was apparently difficult to provide a safe way out of the property, which would face out onto Pinner Road, due to limited space.
The plan is currently “pending consideration”.
