Thames Water have begun emergency repairs under two-way lights which could case delays today.
Just before 1pm, Hertfordshire County Council Highways confirmed that the water company is currently carrying out the work in Chalk Hill (A411) at the junction with Haydon Road.
The emergency permit allows for 24/7 temporary traffic signals until the end of next Thursday (March 21), although the actual repairs may not take that long.
