Roadworks and cleaning works are set to cause disruption to motorists in the Watford area over the coming weeks.
An ongoing programme of gully cleaning is set to cause several streets in Watford to be shut for parts of days in March, while drivers using one of Croxley Green’s busiest roads should prepare for likely delays from Wednesday.
The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works due to take place across our area in the coming weeks:
- Two roads in Croxley Green are set to be shut to motorists during the daytime for wo-and-a-half weeks, starting from Monday, due to drainage works. Grove Crescent is due to be closed from Baldwins Lane north-westwards for approximately 76m from 8am to 6pm each day, with Lovatts also closed at the same time. A diversion will be in place.
- Busy junction could face 'havoc' again as works to last 13 days

- Works by Virgin Media are likely to cause delays in Baldwins Lane, Croxley Green, on Wednesday. Two-way traffic lights will be in operation close to the junction with Links Way.
- Delays are also likely in a different part of Baldwins Lane between 9.30am and 4pm, from Thursday, March 14 to March 18, due to pathway reconstruction works. This is due to take place from outside No. 117 to No. 139.
- Gas works by Cadent are set to shut Imperial Way, Watford, between Friday, March 15 and March 18, subject to a licence being granted.
- Three Watford streets are due to be closed for part of the day from March 18 to March 19 to allow “difficult to access” gullies to be cleaned. Kings Avenue and Princes Avenue will be closed to vehicles from 9.30am to 3.30pm on each day, while Kensington Avenue is due to be shut from 3.30pm to 4pm. A diversion will be in place.
- Delays are likely in Bushey Mill Lane, Watford, on March 18 when Virgin Media are due to be carrying out works. Two-way traffic lights will be in use between the junctions with Bushey Mill Gardens and Northfield Gardens.
- Four roads in the centre of Watford are set to be shut for part of the day from March 18 to March 20 for gully cleaning. Cambridge Road, The Crescent, Granville Road and Smith Street are set to be shut from 9.30am to 3.30pm on each day. A diversion will be in operation.
- Gully cleaning works are also set to shut St Johns Road, Watford, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, from March 20 to March 22. A diversion will be available.
