A man has admitted growing cannabis in South Oxhey after over 160 plants were discovered at a “large-scale” factory.
Endrit Pepkolaj, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to producing the class B drug at St Albans Crown Court yesterday (March 6), after police raided an address in Gosforth Lane.
Police officers forced their way into the building after receiving reports of "tell tale signs" of a cannabis farm, such as suspicious activity and a strong smell emanating from the property.
Police discovered a total of 168 plants, estimated to be worth at least £47,000, along with the defendant.

The 28-year-old appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on February 2, before his case was sent for trial at St Albans Crown Court.
He has now been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on March 20.
Photos released by police after the raid revealed a room full of cannabis plants in individual pots, with industrial lighting and air ducts attached to the ceiling.
Speaking after Pepkolaj's arrest, Three Rivers detective Sergeant Stuart Keene said the "great result" showed how useful information from the community was in stopping drug crime in the area.
He added that Gosforth Lane was a safer place after the factory was dismantled.
