Watford’s traffic gorilla will not be happy as temporary lights coming to two sides of a busy junction will last almost a fortnight.
Internet service provider Grain Connect will be carrying out statutory infrastructure works and remedial works in Whippendell Road and Hadgen Lane, to the south and west of the junction between them.
According to One Network, it is due to start at 8am tomorrow (March 8) and last until 5pm on March 20.

Multi-way traffic signals will be in place in both roads. The pavement will be closed on either side so an alternative pedestrian route will be provided.
It comes after Affinity Water set up temporary lights by the junction in Hagden Lane and nearby Sydney Road at the end of January.
Residents claimed the lights were poorly synchronised and caused “havoc” at the busy junction.
Unusually, the long queues prompted a local to dress up as a gorilla and entertain those left miserable by the wait by directing traffic at the lights.
