Hertfordshire Highways has confirmed a road is blocked after level crossing barriers became stuck.
Residents in North Watford noticed workmen and road closed signs at the crossing in Bushey Mill Lane this afternoon (March 4). The barriers are stuck in the down position even when there are no trains approaching.
Just before 4.30pm Hertfordshire County Council said: “Bushey Mill Lane is closed in both directions at Watford North railway station due to a faulty level crossing.

Services on the Abbey Line, the only route that passes through Watford North, are running on time according to National Rail.
Google Maps is reporting a build up of traffic near the scene.
Just a short distance up the road, near the junction with Northfield Gardens, there are temporary lights in operation while Hertfordshire County Council carries out bus stop upgrades.
