As the government introduces cash incentives to encourage dentists to open up appointments, these are the surgeries in and around Watford that are accepting new NHS patients.

From March 1, participating practices will receive up to £50 per new patient treated as part of a scheme that aims to deliver an extra 2.5 million appointments in the next year.

According to the NHS website, six surgeries in the Watford area are taking on new NHS patients, who can benefit from reduced tariffs compared to private care.

Children under 18, people on low income benefits, and women who are pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months can all receive free dental care at select practices.
