Royal Mail has explained why some late collection post boxes in town are having their last collection times moved forward.
The deadline at some Watford boxes is currently 6pm Monday to Friday and 11am on Saturdays. However, stickers have recently appeared on some detailing an imminent change.
From March 19, that will be changed to 5.15pm Monday to Friday and 10.45am on Saturday.

- M25 to close overnight near Watford for power station part transport
- Emergency road closure 'chaos' as grass torn up by drivers dodging it
The sticker adds that the review of mail collection arrangements is being done to improve efficiency.
The Royal Mail has told the Watford Observer that the move is part of its “collection on delivery” plan to boost efficiency nationally.

“It means the postie collects from the postbox as they carry out their route,” a spokesperson explained. “So while they're in the area they'll empty the postbox and continue with their round.”
One location is the box outside Watford Junction, however Royal Mail was not able to offer a complete list of all the post boxes that are changing.
The updated times will be displayed on the ‘services near you’ page on the Royal Mail website after they come into effect.
