New pictures have revealed the progress of a major housing development that will include Watford’s tallest building.
Construction is well underway on four of the 10 towers planned at The Eight Gardens project on St Albans Road, opposite Watford Junction station.
The scheme will provide 1,265 homes on the former site of The Range and TK Maxx, with the highest towers reaching 28, 22 and 20 floors.
Site works began in August 2021 and will progress in four phases starting at the southern end, with everything expected to be completed by 2030.
As of February 2024, the façade of the 14-storey tower overlooking the railway has been completed, while the neighbouring 13-floor building to the west is covered in scaffolding.

Works are also underway on two towers in the middle of the site, where the interior structure has been completed and scaffolding has been constructed around the base.
The tallest tower, which will be 28 storeys when completed, will be built between 2025 and 2028 alongside its 22-floor neighbour.
The development will dominate the town’s skyline when completed and is expected to be visible from as far as Oxhey Park and Bushey Hall Golf Club.
