Applications for an alcohol and entertainment licence at a company’s head office and changes to on street car parking are among the public notices that could affect residents in the Watford area.

Clarendon Road – alcohol and entertainment licence
A home and fashion retailer has applied for a licence to sell alcohol and play live music outside of normal business hours at its headquarters in Watford.
TJX UK, which operates stores including TK Maxx and HomeSense, has applied for the licence for its offices at 73, Clarendon Road, Watford.
If granted, the licence would allow the sale by retail of alcohol, live and recorded music, dance/plays/films/indoor sports and performances of dance from Monday to Friday from 5pm to 11pm.
The application points out “licensable activities shall be ancillary to use of the premises as offices”.
Any representations must be made in writing to Watford Licensing Authority, Town Hall, Watford WD17 3EX or by email at licensing@watford.gov.uk by February 29.
Leavesden Road – car parking
Changes to the controlled parking zone in Leavesden Road, Watford, will take effect on Wednesday.
The effect of the order will be to:
- Remove a section of the single yellow line to facilitate the provision of a five-metre single limited waiting bay on Leavesden Road.
- To mark the new bay and propose to operate Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm, 20 minutes, no return within one hour. The bay will be outside no. 201 Leavesden Road, at a distance of ten metres away from the junction with Jubilee Road.
The changes are being made to provide for loading and unloading and short-term parking for visitors.
St Albans Road – alcohol licence
A café in Watford has applied for a licence to sell alcohol.
Serdal Kocabas has applied for licence at Junction Café, 101a St Albans Road, Watford.
If granted, the sale of alcohol will be permitted from 11am to 10.30pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 3.30pm on Sunday.
Any representations must be made in writing to Watford Licensing Authority by February 23.
Watford - car club parking
Four on-street parking bays in the centre of Watford have been made available for car club users.
The car club provides another travel option for residents who can hire a car by the hour or by the day without the need to own a vehicle.
An order came into effect on Friday changing the provision of the following four parking bays:
- Granville Road (West Side) south of its junction with King Street. To replace one space currently used as Permit Holders Only Zone E.
- Sutton Road (West Side) opposite junction with Prince Street. To replace one space currently used as Permit Holders Only Zone B.
- Queens Road (West Side) north of junction with Lord Street. To replace one space currently used as: Shared Use Pay and Display/Permit Holders Only Zone C.
- Woodford Road (South West Side) at the north-western end of the taxi rank. To replace one space currently for No Waiting or Stopping Except Taxis.
Estate of Doreen Clara Hill
Anyone with a claim against or an interest in the estate of Doreen Clara Hill, late of 3 Abroath Green, South Oxhey, Watford WD19 7QT, who died on July 8, 2022, is asked to send their details in writing to Lynch Hall & Hornby, 23, Peterborough Road, Harrow, Middlesex HA1 2BD.
This should be done by March 27, 2024.
