After a train derailed during Storm Isha, cancellations to Watford journeys have been extended another day due to damage.

An engineering train came off the tracks during planned engineering works between Shepherds Bush and Wembley Central at the weekend and damaged points and powerlines in doing so.

Trains running on the line between Watford Junction/Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction remain disrupted, as some Southern rail and London Overground service are suspended.

Update:

This is now expected to continue until 5am on Thursday after initially being set to last until the end of Sunday (January 21), before being pushed back to the end of Monday and then Tuesday.

Southern Rail had previously said that, “due to the complexity of the derailment”, work to re-rail the engineering train “has taken longer than expected".

However, with the train now re-railed, the issue is now the damage the derailment caused to infrastructure which has required additional repairs.

Tickets continue to be accepted on alternative public transport routes.

Southern services that run between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction are suspended. Trains cannot run between Shepherds Bush and Willesden Junction on the London Overground, which also faces disruption between Stratford and Clapham Junction.
