A burglar in a hi-vis jacket apparently walked past a victim in their own property before thousands in cash was reported stolen.
According to the report, a bald white male in his late 30’s, dressed in all black with a hi-vis jacket, had walked through after gaining entry to the property, in The Street, Chipperfield, via the backdoor.
The victim, a 39-year-old man, then discovered the bedroom had been ransacked and drawers had been searched. “Thousands of pounds” in cash and jewellery was reported stolen.

The break-in, at around 5.30pm on Saturday (January 13), has sparked an appeal and Herts Police are seeking information and witnesses.
The force has also released images of two items of jewellery believed to be among those stolen.
Detective Constable Samantha Pearson who is investigating said: “We are appealing for any witnesses or information following the burglary on Saturday.
“If you have any information that may help our ongoing investigation, please contact me via email.
“Additionally, we are releasing these two images of jewellery, in the hope that someone may have seen it.”
