Drivers in the Watford area may find their journeys delayed due to the temporary closure of several streets and other roadworks over the coming weeks.
Roads including Colonial Way, Queen Road and Orphanage Road are among those due to be shut to vehicles for reasons such as utility works and carriageway lining.
The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is selection of the roadworks due to take place into the start of next month.
- Motorists may experience delays in Horseshoe Lane, Watford, on Tuesday and Wednesday for works to clear vegetation from the roadside and lift trees. This is due to take place between Louvian Way and The Glebe where two-way traffic lights will be in use.
- Delays are likely in Harwoods Road, Watford, on Thursday, January 25 when works will be carried out by Thames Water. These are due to take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm and multi-way traffic lights will be in use.
- Colonial Way, Watford, is due to be closed from Friday, January 26 to January 29 for gas works by Cadent.
- Aynho Street, Watford, is set to be shut to vehicles from 7.30am to 6pm, from January 29 to January 31, for micro-surfacing preparations works to take place. The closure will be from Oxford Street to Souldern Street.
- Queens Road, Watford, is also due to be closed to motorists from January 29 to January 31 for micro-surfacing preparation works. These are due to be carried out from 9.30am to 4pm daily, with the closure in place from the junctions with Orphanage Road and Radlett Road.
- Another street where permission has been granted for a temporary closure from January 29 to January 31 is Windsor Road, Watford, this time for carriageway lining works. This closure is due to apply from 7.30am to 6pm daily from the junction with the A412 St Albans Road to Sandown Road.
- Carriageway lining works are also set to temporarily shut North Approach, Watford, from January 29 to January 31. This closure is scheduled to be in place from 9.30am to 4pm each day from Greenwood Drive to Sheepcot Lane End.
- Micro-surfacing preparation works will also close Souldern Street, Watford, from January 30 to February 1. These will take place from 7.30am to 6pm daily.
- Also from 7.30pm to 6pm, from January 30 to February 1, Banbury Street, Watford, will be shut to motorists, again to allow micro-surfacing preparation works to be carried out.
- There is likely to be disruption in Hagden Lane, Watford, from January 31 for two weeks while Global Utility Connections carry out works. These are scheduled to take place from 8am to 6pm daily until February 13 and multi-way traffic lights will be in use.
- Works by Thames Water are set to cause the overnight closure of Orphanage Road, Watford, at the start of next month. The road is due to be shut from 10pm on February 1 to 5.30am the following day.
- Beechwood Rise, Watford, is another street due to be closed for micro-surfacing preparation works, this time from 7.30am to 6pm, from February 1 to February 5. This closure is due to in place from No. 76 to the junction with Longspring.
