A developer has been given the go-ahead to demolish a Watford vicarage to build eight new homes.
Watford Borough Council has today (January 16) granted planning permission for the new homes at the Christchurch Vicarage site in Leggatts Way.
Four three-bedroom and four four-bedroom houses would be built, with one being a new vicarage to replace the existing one and seven being normal residential homes.

- Three 'major' planning applications considered for Watford
- Five significant planning apps for Watford from December
A new access road would also be built.
The existing vicarage, owned by the church, was built in the 1960s and is not locally listed. The rest of the plot, next to St Mark's C of E Church, Watford, is a grass area with trees and bushes.
The council placed ecology and biodiversity-related restrictions on the permission while planting and landscaping was proposed as part of the plan.
Recommending approval, the council planning officer said: “The proposal is considered an appropriate and acceptable development of this suburban site for family housing and is welcomed.
“It would enhance the character and appearance of the surrounding area and is acceptable in terms of its layout, scale and design.”
Each home has one parking space.
The new vicarage sits at the end of the access road in the plan, has an additional parking space for visitors and direct access to the church grounds.
